Biography
Bergman began his career in 1997, at age 24 as a board operator (CJAD), and an overnight radio host for Montreal's Virgin Radio 96 (CJFM).
In 1999, Bergman became the afternoon drive host at "The River" (CJPT-FM), an album oriented rock station in Brockville, Ontario, Canada. 9 weeks after joining the team in Brockville, it was announced that Mark had accepted an offer to host the evening show at MIX 96, a Hot AC radio station in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Bergman has also hosted the MIX 96 mid-day show (2005), and most recently hosted Virgin Radio's afternoon drive show (2005–2010), now hosted by Vinny Barrucco, and was promoted to the role of Assistant Program Director.[1]
In December 2009, Bergman became the station's Program Director. This was followed by his resignation as host of the afternoon drive-time show in order to focus on his new responsibilities.[2] He subsequently became the station's Brand Director.[3]
In March 2012, and again in 2014, Bergman was nominated for Program Director Of The Year (Major market; Canada) at the Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards.
Mark Bergman is also the former host of In Montreal, a 30-minute magazine style TV show on CH Montreal (CJNT-TV), which he hosted for 3 years.[4]
Mark recently returned to the Montreal airwaves to host Virgin Radio’s afternoon drive show, from 3pm to 7pm week days on Virgin Radio 96 in Montreal, in addition to his duties as the station’s Brand Director.
