Mark Kelly (bassist)

Mark Dean Kelly (born June 28, 1956) is a Christian bass guitarist most remembered for being a member of Petra during the 1980s. Kelly joined Petra in 1981 and recorded seven albums with them before retiring in 1987, being replaced by Ronny Cates.

In 2000, he assisted with his former bandmates and current Petra band members to the band's induction in the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

In 2010, an incarnation of the band was formed under the name of "Classic Petra", featuring some band members from the 80. They announced the "Back to the Rock World Tour", starting October 15, 2010[1] and released Back to the Rock on November 13, 2010.
