Australian PGA Championship
The Australian PGA Championship is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia. It is the home tournament of the Australian PGA and dates back to 1905. The winner receives the Joe Kirkwood Cup, named after Australian golfer Joe Kirkwood, Sr. Since 2000 it has been held in the South East Queensland region.
Since 2007, the Official World Golf Rankings have awarded at least 20 points to Australian PGA Championship winners. Some editions have featured top-ranked players, which increased the OWGR points to 34 in 2011, 32 in 2007, and 26 in 2008 and 2009. The 2015 edition was co-sanctioned by the European Tour.
