The Mathematical Intelligencer

The Mathematical Intelligencer is a mathematical journal published by Springer Verlag that aims at a conversational and scholarly tone, rather than the technical and specialist tone more common among academic journals. It was started by mathematicians Bruce Chandler and Harold Edwards Jr. and first appeared in 1979.

Mathematical Conversations

The book Mathematical Conversations, published by Springer in 2000, selected twenty articles from 1980 to 2000 from the Mathematical Intelligencer, and organised them into seven parts:

  3. Analysis
  4. Applied Mathematics
  5. Arrangements and Patterns
