Mayoor School, Noida was established in the year 2003 under the aegis of Mayo College General Council, Ajmer,[1] is a private secondary school located at Sector - 126, Expressway, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. The school campus is spread over more than 10 acres and houses the Academic Blocks, the Administrative Block, the amphitheatre and huge playgrounds for Football, Cricket, Horse Riding and Skating besides Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball Courts and a fully operational swimming pool with trained coaches and lifeguards. It has now more than 3000 students and 180 teaching and non-teaching staffs.[2] The school is affiliated to the Central Board for Secondary Education up to the twelfth standard.
Admissions
For all the classes, session starts in April every year and admission process begins 6–7 months earlier, usually in September.
Pre-Nursery & Nursery
Admissions for Pre-Nursery & Nursery are conducted every year based upon parent's and student's informal interaction with the Principal and Head Mistress. The minimum age required for nursery admission is 3 years as on 1 April, as the session starts.
KG and Onward
There is an entrance examination conducted for admissions in classes KG and onward. On completion of the registration process, parents get informed about the date of the written entrance test. This followed by an informal interaction of the student and parents with the Principal and Vice-Principal. Based on the test results, the interaction and the number of vacancies in each class, students get selected.
School Facilities
Campus
Mayoor School Noida's current location at Sector - 126, Expressway, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, which opened in 2003. The school campus is spread over ten acres, surrounded by lush green fields. It houses the Academic Blocks – (Junior and Senior), Administrative Block, K.G. Block, Amphitheatre, Swimming Plaza, Courts and Playfields. The buildings are an architectural marvel and the classrooms are air-conditioned.
Swimming Pool
The school has a fully operational swimming pool where students go regularly and enjoy this sport. A trained coach and lifeguard are on duty throughout and utmost care is taken to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of this area. The tiny tots have a Splash Pool where they have their rendezvous with water.
Horse Riding
Horse Riding as a sport facility is provided in a ground area specifically dedicated to horse riding under the supervision of qualified trainers. Along with the training to ride a horse, children are also trained for various equestrian events. Some of the students have won championships and trophies at the state and national level. The display of the equestrian feats by these state and national level players is always a treat to watch on the School Sports Day.
Laboratories
Science Labs, Computer Labs, Maths Lab, Digital Learning, Science and Maths Lab(Junior) etc. are facilitated inside the campus.
Amphitheater
The amphitheater is located in the middle, its circular design offers a panoramic view of the entire school campus. It is the ideal place for the whole school to assemble for morning prayers and then to unwind after a hard day’s work in the classrooms. A hub of all co-curricular activities is beautifully landscaped and surrounded by shallow water body that sets the tone for a conducive environment.
Sports
The playfield includes grounds for Hockey, Football and Cricket and courts for Tennis, Basketball and Volleyball. There are facilities for indoor games like table tennis, carom and chess. Students are given ample opportunities to participate in various Intra and Inter School Tournament.
Smart Class Room
In modern days, computers play an important role in educational system. The new revolutionary program in school education system, Smart Classes has changed the very concept of learning (classroom teaching). It is an innovative technology that has aimed to revolutionize the way teachers teach and students learn in class. Obviously, this methodology has proved beneficial for the students.
Library
To inculcate the habit of avid and voracious reading, the Mayoor School library stocks around 11,000 books on diverse topics and subjects which are easily accessible to the students. The library helps the children to upgrade and update their knowledge and to reinforce their school learning. It keeps them abreast of latest things in a world where old knowledge is fast getting outdated by an influx of excess information.
Uniform / Book Shop
School uniforms and books of each classes are available at reasonable prices round the year at the shop located inside the campus. School itself provide these articles to maintain uniformity and comfort of parents.
Multipurpose Hall
The school has a state-of-the-art multi-purpose hall with seating capacity of 250 students with latest projection system and audio facility. This hall is an ideal place to conduct multifarious activities like debate, discussions, quizzes, workshops etc.
Transport
School has a fleet of over 55 fully air-conditioned school owned buses. A teacher travels in every bus and disembarks only after the last child is dropped safely. Safety on the road is given paramount importance. The students embark and disembark within the school campus under the vigilance of transport managers and teaching staff. An escort teacher and helping staff accompanies the children in the bus. All the buses are equipped with a medical kit for emergency. In case of a delay due to unforeseen circumstances parents are immediately informed through SMS.
Sick Bay
There is a sick bay inside the campus for providing immediate medical care to students showing signs of an illness or injured themselves at school. The medical staffs at sick bay works in direct coordination with the entire school community.
Mobile Application
In 2015, the school took a technical step ahead by launching mobile applications to make communication faster between parents and school community. The Android Application is available to download from Google Play Store with the name of Mayoor School Noida.[3] In April 2016, school launched iOS Application for parents using Apple phones.
Social and Environmental Activities
Teachers and students of Mayoor School, Noida are actively involved in various social drives and environmental causes[4] by organizing and participating in events in Delhi-NCR.[5]
Awards and Achievements
- Mayoor School, Noida becomes the recipient of the International School Award 2014-17, conferred by the British Council in India. The objective of this award is to recognize the contribution of schools in adding global dimensions to the current educational framework.
- Mayoor School has been accredited with British Council International School Award (ISA 2010 - 2013).
- Geetika Bhatia (XI) was awarded NIE Student of the Year Award.
- Rahul Bidhuri (XI) bagged a Bronze Medal in the Delhi State Level Boxing Championship.
- Steffi Aggarwal and Suhani Tondon won Gold Medals and Ishit Sharma won Bronze Medal in the 5th National Karate Championship in Maharashtra.
