Methodist Homes for the Aged
Methodist Homes (MHA) is a charity providing care, accommodation and support services for older people throughout Britain. It was established as an independent charity by the Methodist Church in 1943. They run ninety care homes, both residential and nursing, and services for people with dementia.
They publish a magazine called Heart & Soul.
Statistics
Established almost 70 years ago, MHA now delivers a range of services to over 16,000 individuals.[1] They serve approximately:
- 5,000 older people living in care homes - residential, nursing and specialist dementia care.
- 2,000 older people living independently – in a range of purpose-built apartments with flexible support and personalised care.
- 9,000 older people supported via live at home services in the community.
Their services are delivered by 7,000 staff and 4,000 volunteers.[2] Methodist homes provide well trained staff of top quality to care for the elderly and meet their needs with person centered care using an holistic approach.
