Michael Allen (born August 1, 1964) is a former Canadian football defensive back who played seven seasons in the Canadian Football League with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Ottawa Rough Riders and BC Lions. He was drafted by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the fourth round of the 1988 CFL Draft. He played CIS football at Carleton University.
Early years
Allen was born in Clarendon Parish, Jamaica and moved to Canada when he was ten years old.[1][2]
Junior football
Allen played junior football for the Thunder Bay Giants of the Canadian Junior Football League.[3]
College career
Allen played CIS football for the Carleton Ravens.[2]
Professional career
Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Allen was selected by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers with the 29th pick in the 1988 CFL Draft.[4] He played for the Blue Bombers from 1988 to 1991, winning the 76th Grey Cup in 1988 and the 78th Grey Cup in 1990.[1][2]
Ottawa Rough Riders
Allen played for the Ottawa Rough Riders from 1992 to 1993.[1]
BC Lions
Allen played for the BC Lions from 1993 to 1994, winning the 82nd Grey Cup in 1994.[1][2] He retired in 1995.[2]
