Michael Kafui Helegbe (born September 15, 1985 in Accra) is a Ghanaian professional footballer, who currently plays for Tripoli SC in the Lebanese Premier League.

Career

Helegbe started his professional career with the Liberty Professionals club of the Ghanaian Premier League and signed a 6 months contract for SK Brann (Norway) on 21 April 2005 with the option of extension for another two years[5] and joined back on 1 July 2005.In January 2007, Helegbe signed a three and half year contract with French secound division side En Avant de Guingamp.[6][7] The Ghanaian midfielder left Guingamp after two years in August 2009 to join Belgian second division club KV Oostende on a one-year deal[8] On 29 September 2010 announced his return to Ghana and signed with Liberty Professionals F.C..[9] After two years with Liberty, joined in September 2012 to Asante Kotoko.[10] On 1 December 2013, Helegbe signed for Medeama in Ghana Premier League. After two seasons with Tripoli SC where he played 40 games and scored 28 goals, helegbe moved to Salam Zgharta where he currently plays.

International

Helegbe earned his first national cap playing for the Ghana national football team against Austria on 24 March 2007 at the UPC-Arena, Graz, Austria.[11] He was the captain of the Ghanaian Olympics football team.
