Michael McGinlay (born in Bolton, 10 December 1987) is a professional footballer. He is the son of Bolton Wanderers legend John McGinlay.
Career
McGinlay began his career at Manchester City, but never made the breakthrough, so he moved to the United States where he signed for the Cincinnati Kings. He scored 9 times in 33 appearances for the club in his first season.
A winger or striker, he signed for Bohemians in July 2007, and scored his first goal for the club on 19 October, in a 2-1 win over Derry City. In 2008, he had a loan spell at Ballymena United.
In January 2009, he signed for Dundalk and made his début as a substitute in the 1-0 loss at Galway United on 13 March 2009. At the end of the 2009 season, he was released by the Oriel Park outfit.
He played for Formartine United during the 2011-12 season.
In January 2014 Mike signed for 1874 Northwich of the North West Counties Football League First Division.
