Mike Burns (born May 14, 1962) is an American college basketball coach and was hired as an assistant men's basketball coach at the Boise State University on May 25, 2016.[1]
Burns is the former head men's basketball coach at Eastern Washington University. On May 30, 2007, Burns was relieved of his duties as head coach after three seasons.[2]
For 2007-2008, Burns was head coach at Community Colleges of Spokane, leading the team to a 30-2 record and year-long #1 ranking in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges league.[3] His team had a 24-game winning streak snapped with a one-point loss in the title game against Yakima Valley CC. He was named the NWAACC Coach of the Year, and the NWAACC East Region Coach of the Year.[4]
In March 2008, Burns left for an assistant men's basketball coach position at the University of San Diego.[5]
Burns joined the University of the Pacific coaching staff on June 16, 2015 after spending seven seasons on the bench at San Diego. He took over as Pacific's Interim Head Coach on Dec. 11, 2015 and guided the Tigers through the 2015-16 season.[6]
