Mirbahar

Mirbahar (Urdu: میر بہار‎) is a Sindhi tribe in Sindh, Pakistan. Mirbahar is one of the oldest tribe of Sindh which is also known as Mallah. They were living near river banks but also residing near shore of the Arabian Sea.

History

The Mirbahar tribe is known to have owned large Dhows in the ports of Thatta they are also known to have guarded the seas, particularly during the rule of Mirza Ghazi Beg and even helped Prince Aurangzeb when he was Subedar of Sindh to found the port of Kukralo, which was later abandoned.
