Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams is a residential and commercial furniture manufacturer and retailer based in Taylorsville, North Carolina. It was founded in 1989 when Mitchell Gold combined his marketing experience with that of partner Bob Williams, an art director. Originally called The Mitchell Gold Company, the company name was changed to Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams in April 2005. It is not related in any way to Mitchell L. Gold of Toronto, Canada, and the World Peace Posse.

Currently, sales at Mitchell Gold have reached in excess of $90 million. Its product line offers both slipcovered and tailored upholstery in fabric and leather, including sleepers, sectionals, chairs, beds, ottomans, and dining chairs. It also offers casegoods (tables and storage), lighting, rugs, bed linens, accessories, and artwork. Its products are sold in 16 Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Signature Stores as well as in home furnishings specialty stores and national chains. The company also has a hospitality division.

Diversity

Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams supports such grassroots and national not-for-profits as the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the Empire State Pride Agenda, the Design Industries Foundation for AIDS (DIFFA), Friends In Deed, the AIDS Leadership Foothills-area Alliance (ALFA), the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, and the Leukemia Society.

In 2005, Mitchell Gold formed Faith in America[1] a non-profit organization aimed at educating the public about the harm caused when religious teachings are used to place a religious and moral stamp of disapproval and inequality on the lives of gay and lesbian Americans, with emphasis on its impact on youth and families.

Also, due to its inclusive company policies, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams received a 100% rating on the Corporate Equality Index released by the Human Rights Campaign starting in 2003, the second year of the report. The company has maintained this rating through the 2013 HRC report.

The company also helps sponsor production of the television series The Good Wife—it is credited at the end of each episode.
