Muhamad Rasat Muhamad
Professor Dato' Dr. Muhamad Rasat Muhamad (1953–2015) was the third president of the Multimedia University (MMU) in Malaysia. He took office on 1 January 2011, after his predecessor Zaharin Yusoff left office late in December 2010. He was previously a deputy vice-chancellor of University Malaya.[1] In 2008, he was awarded the title of Dato' by Sultan Azlan Shah of Perak.[2]
A scientist, Muhamad Rasat received a doctorate from the University of Durham after being an undergraduate at National University of Malaysia. He later researched under fellowships at Cambridge University and the Tokyo Institute of Technology.[3]
Muhamad Rasat died on 12 October 2015 at the age of 62 after experiencing shortness of breath. He was buried at the Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery, Kuala Lumpur.
