"My Mind Right (Remix)" is the first single from Memphis Bleek's second studio album, The Understanding. Initially, the song was not a major hit and did not receive much airplay. It was struggling to gain recognition upon its release until, Memphis Bleek recruited Jay-Z, Get Low Records' artist, H. Money Bags, and Beanie Sigel for the heavily played remix. This version of the song would go on to be a huge hit during the summer of 2000 and would be the #1 song for a while on the rap charts. The single would be Bleek's biggest hit until the next two songs were released from the album. The remix to "My Mind Right" was such a big hit that it was included on his album, while the original version was not.
On the remix, Jay-Z takes shots at Meeno from Mase's group Harlem World. On "I'm That" from Dame Grease's compilation album Live on Lennox Ave, Meeno spit "Who the last nigga that you heard that was this great?/none other than myself and the, uhhh, late great Notorious...". Already having issues with Mase, Jay-Z responded with "Frontin' like you tougher than what you are/’til the gun is comin' through the driver's side of your car/usin' my name in vain like I won't damage the boy/think niggas was shootin' your fat ass out of cannons before? (I'm that!)/Niggas is pompous, first they in Evel Kenievel jumpers/ now they turnin' over Rovers like they want it with Hova..." In the video for Harlem World's single "I Really Like It" Meeno was shot out of a cannon.
