NGC 6558
NGC 6558 is a 24,100 light year distant globular cluster in the constellation Sagittarius. It is magnitude 11 and diameter 2 arc minutes. The globular cluster was discovered in 1784 by the astronomer William Herschel with his 18.7-inch telescope and the discovery later in the New General Catalog.
It is seen 1.5 degrees south-southeast of Gamma2 Sagittarii.
