Muazzin Aziz (Bengali: মোয়েজ্জিন আজিজ; born 1995), better known by his stage name Naga MC, is an English rapper and actor.
Early life
Aziz was born in Bethnal Green, Tower Hamlets, London, England[1][2][3][4] is of Bangladeshi descent and attended Oaklands School. Aziz's mother died when he was a child.[1]
Career
In 2007, at the age of 11,[5] Aziz won the Rhythmic Award for his age category for the Rise Slam[1] (now SLAMbaddasors UK). In 2009, he won the SLAMbassadors national championship again.[5]
Aziz was on open mic at Rich Mix on Bethnal Green.[1] He has played at shows across the UK and abroad.[2] He has worked on spoken word and musical projects, including touring internationally with Asian Dub Foundation.[5]
Aziz has featured in The Observer, BBC London, BBC Two, BBC Asian Network. He has worked alongside Asian Dub Foundation and performed around Europe.[2] In January 2011, he performed live on BBC Asian Network.[6] In June 2012, he contributed to a discussion on BBC London 94.9's The Sunny and Shay Show about building a career in the music industry.[7]
Aziz played a supporting role in the 2012 horror film Comedown,[2] the short film Give to Me the Life I Love and the 2014 BBC Three drama short film Flea.[8]
Aziz is also poet coach and workshop facilitator for SLAMbassadors UK.[5]
Personal life
Aziz lives in Bethnal Green, London.[1]
