Naseer Soomro (Sindhi: نصیر سومرو born March 28, 1964), is a Pakistani journalist, critic, linguist and bilingual poet of Sindhi & Urdu.[2][3]
Early life and education
He is an author and all his works / books that is published vividly named by Naseer Soomro. This name is also mentioned in the Oxford English-Sindhi Dictionary published by Oxford University Press, Karachi as an Assistant to editorial team of translators, editors, and proof readers. He worked in Oxford University Press, Karachi with a well known writer of Sindhi Badar Abro as a freelance editor.
His life sketch with all relevant details is written in Encyclopedia Sindhiana volume-8, compiled and published by Sindhi Language Authority, Hyderabad Pakistan. As well as his profile is mentioned in Mukhtiar Mallah's book "Sindhi Adab Jo Mukhtsar Jaezo", Naseer Soomro as a modern poet of Sindhi language.
Naseer Soomro's early days were passed in his native town Hingorja, a place that's situated in the former state of Khairpur of the Mirs, who ruled the Sindh by dividing in its three administrative units, thereof, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas were the units other than the state of Khairpur.
His family name is Naseer Ahmad Soomro and born at the home at the home of Allah Bakhsh Soomro, who was a carpenter by his profession and renowned religious scholar, a public figure too, popularly called by name Moulvi Allah Bakhsh Soomro, alias Mulla Loang.
As far as, formal education is concerned, till matriculation, Naseer studied at Hingorja, intermediate in per-engineering from the Government Degree College, Kandiaro Sindh. Afterwards, he did his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) in Metallurgy from Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro Hyderabad, Sindh.[4]
Poetic Recognition
Naseer Soomro's poetry has selected for Revised Scheme of Syllabus of Sindhi for CSS Competitive Examination of Pakistan.[5]
