Nate Cornejo was drafted in the first round of the 1998 MLB draft by the Detroit Tigers, number 34 overall.[1] Prior to being called up the Tigers, Cornejo was considered to be the Tigers' best prospect and was among the top 100 prospects in baseball.[2]
