Nawal Meniker, born December 9 1997 at Perpignan, is a athlete French, who specializes in the high jump.
2013/2014 : Cadette Days
During the French Cadette Indoor Championships at Lyon, Nawal (first year in Cadettes) gets the silver medal with a jump of 1.73 m. For her first cap for France, she participates in World Youth Championships at Donetsk in Ukraine and qualified for the final where she placed eighth with a jump of 1.77 m. In 2014, she became Junior Indoor Champion of France at Val de Reuil, and also Junior Outdoor Champion at Valence in the Drome with a jump of 1.82 m. She was outstanding in the early 2014 season, winning at only sixteen, the Elite Indoors Champion of France at Bordeaux with a leap of 1.81 m, beating, notably, Melanie Skotniki. Selected for the 2nd Youth Olympic Games, at Nankin China, Nawal won the silver medal behind Ukraine's Yuliya Levchenko matching and passing the French record of Maryse Ewanjé-Sword with a jump 1.87 m.[1]
2015 : In the Juniors
February 14, 2015 Nantes, She won the title of Junior champion of France with a jump 1.82 m. On February 22, 2015, she retained her title of Elite Indoors Champion of France at Aubière with a jump of 1.85 m, beating Melanie Skotnik, on number of jumping attempts.[2] On June 27, 2015, she improved her personal best at the Happy Jump at Albi with a jump 1.88 m on her second attempt. This performance allows her to qualify for the European Junior Championships taking place in Eskilstuna in Sweden. In July, she easily qualified with a jump 1.79 m for the final of the European Junior Championships where she won, in the final, the silver medal with a jump 1.86 m, overtaken by the British Morgan Lake (1.91 m).
2016 : Confirmation In the Juniors
On February 14, 2016 in Nantes, she won a second Junior French Indoor Championship, with a jump 1.84 m, confirming her good form and failing narrowly at a height of 1.89 m
