Luisa Naysum Saravanamuttu (née Arunachalam, 1897 - 19 January 1941)[1] was a Ceylonese politician. She was the second female member of State Council of Ceylon thereby the second elected female legislator in Sri Lanka.
She was married to Sir Ratnasothy Saravanamuttu a physician and politician. How in 1931, was elected to the first the State Council of Ceylon from Colombo North. However he was removed after he was found guilty of corrupt practices by an election Judge. His wife Mrs Naysum Saravanamuttu, as she was known at the time became the second female member of the State Council in 1931, when she won her husbands seat in a by election.[2][3] She was reelected to the second State Council in 1936 and retain it until her death in 1941.
