Naziah Ali (born March 4, 1982) held the title of Miss India Fiji 2009. She represented Fiji to the Miss India Worldwide Pageant in Durban, in February 2009. She is the first Indo Fijian from Fiji to represent Fiji to the pageant.[1][2][3] Ali is of both Indian and Fijian origin. Her father is a third generation Indian and her mother a native Fijian from the province of Ba.
Ali works as the Communications and Publication Coordinator for the Advancing Gender Equality in Political Governance in the Pacific (GEPG) Programme for the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM).[4][5]
She worked for the South Pacific Applied Geoscience Commission (SOPAC) from 2007 to 2008 as the Media and Communications Consultant. Prior to that Ali worked at a television journalist for Fiji Television Limited. She worked as a journalism and theatre arts tutor at the University of the South Pacific after graduating in 2004 with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and Literature and Language from the same university.[6][7]
