Vice Admiral Sir Neil Dudley Anderson, KBE, CB (5 April 1927 – 5 June 2010) was a senior officer in the Royal New Zealand Navy whose career culminated with his appointment as Chief of Naval Staff from 1978 to 1980, and then Chief of Defence Staff from 1980 to 1983. He was married to the author Barbara Anderson. He died on 5 June 2010 aged 83.[1][2]
In the 1967 Queen's Birthday Honours, Anderson was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire.[3] He was promoted to Knight Commander of the same order in the 1982 Queen's Birthday Honours.[4][5]
