New College Telford is a sixth form college situated in Wellington, an area within Telford, Shropshire, England. The college caters for 16- to 19-year-olds, but also offers part-time courses to the rest of the community, principally adults. The College offers a range of courses at level two and three with particular specialisms in the sciences, performing arts and music. The college is currently under the leadership of Martin Smith (principal).(Janet Rigby executive assistant to the principal & CEO) and leadership structure is as follows: Jean Wright (vice principal curriculum & student experience), Andy Graham (vice principal quality & performance), Martin Smith (finance director), Reenee Gilbert (business development manager), Kevin Wintle (head of MIS), Heather Wheelan-Jones (head of human resources, health & safety & estates), Chris Wain (head of student experience), Craig Jones (finance manager). With head of curriculum's being Jenny Nolan (business, law & leisure), Holly Davies (communications & IT), Maxine Cumming (humanities, social science & health) & Mandy Parker (creatives & acting STEM). College governors are as follows: David Hopkins (chair), Gail Bleasby (vice chair), Keith Scribbins (clerk), Julian Dean (teaching staff governor), Mike Murphy (non-teaching staff governor), Graham Briscoe, Anna Brennand, Steven Walton & Jenny Wynn along with the two senior student council members: student president - Phoebe Owen & student vice president - Nathan Marsh. During February 2015 the college was rated "Requires Improvement" by Ofsted inspectors which is one less that their last inspection. The college aims to create an environment which all students are able to succeed and does this by liaising with partner secondary schools within Telford & Wrekin. As of May 2016, The college is in talks with a merger with Telford College of Arts & Technology (TCAT).
