Newton Heath TMD is a traction maintenance depot located in Newton Heath, Manchester, England. The depot is situated at the junction of the Calder Valley Line and the former Oldham Loop Line, and is 2 1⁄4 mi (3.6 km) east of Manchester Victoria station.[6]
The depot code is NH.
History
In 1987, the depot's allocation of rolling stock included Classes 101, 104, 108, 142 and 150/2 DMUs.[7] Although, Classes 08, 31, 45 and 47 could also usually be seen at the depot.[8] By 1994, the depot's allocation included Classes 142, 150/1, 150/2, 153 and 156.[9]

The services to and from Newton Heath TMD (ECS movements) are to many locations, which include Hazel Grove,[10] Chester, Manchester Victoria, Piccadilly, Oxford Road and Airport, Liverpool Lime Street, Wigan Wallgate (and carriage sidings), Southport, Preston (and carriage sidings), Rose Hill Marple, Huddersfield, Stalybridge, Stockport (and carriage depot), Blackburn, Blackpool North, Bolton, Rochdale, Holbeck Loco Sidings, Heaton T&RSMD, Allerton Depot, Doncaster West Yard, Doncaster Works Wagon Shops, Salford Crescent, Wigan North Western, Todmorden, Burnley Manchester Road and itself.
