Nick Ellis (born January 18, 1994) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender. He is currently playing with the Bakersfield Condors in the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect to the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Playing career
A native of Millersville, Maryland, Ellis attended Pomfret School in Connecticut, before joining the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) for the 2012-13 campaign.[1]
Ellis started his college career in 2013 at Providence College. He made seven appearances for the Friars during his rookie year.[2] As a junior (2015-16), he had the best season ever by a Providence goalie, recording a 1.80 GAA and .936 save percentage, en route to Hockey East All-Star Honorable Mention status.[3]
On April 7, 2016, Ellis put pen to paper on a two-year entry level contract with the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL)[4] who sent him to their AHL affiliate Bakersfield Condors on an amateur tryout agreement.[5]
