Nut Mountain, Saskatchewan

Nut Mountain is a large hill (52°5′N 103°10′W / 52.083°N 103.167°W / 52.083; -103.167) in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, located in the Nut Hills. The mountain and several other nearby landmarks are named after the wild hazel nuts that grow abound in the countryside.[1] The Assiniboine River has its headwaters Nut Hills.[2]

There is also a nearby hamlet,[3] in the Rural Municipality of Sasman, which takes its name from the hill. Ron Petrie, writer for the Regina Leader-Post, was raised near Nut Mountain.[1]
