[1][2] Panjan Kissana (sometimes spelt Panjan kasana)(پنجن کسانہ) is a town and union council of Gujrat District or in village called "Chak Essa, in the Punjab province of Pakistan.[3] It is part of Kharian Tehsil and is located at 32°46'0N 73°55'0E with an altitude of 262 metres (862 feet).
Brig.Sahib Dad Khan was an important personality of Panjan Kissana. He belonged to Pakistan People Party. he was also communication minister of Punjab, Pakistan.His four sons have started a welfare trust in his memory with the name Brig. Sahib Dad Khan Welfare Trust. The first project of the trust is named as "Karam Bagh". This project consists of One Free Eye Clinic which will later be converted into a complete Eye Hospital , One Primary and Secondary School and one College which will provide free education to local students. One Technical Training College is also under construction which will provide one year City & Guilds London Certified Diploma to Local students. Another personality of panjan kissana is ch athar ali. He was member of norwiegen assambly. He has taken a part in the red election of Norway. ch athar ali was a first Pakistani who spoke to the Norwegian assembly. . [4] Some other renowned persons of this village are ch.Shariff ch haji amin they were the main ch in 80s and the 90s also Ahsan Chuhadry,Mian Akhtar France, Ch Kareemdad Dedar, Master Qasir Chairman of Sarfraz Bublic School, Ch.Ahmed Khan, Haji Nadir ( Nazim ), Dr.Mudassar Ali, Ch.Sahibdad ex chairman, Iftikhar Advocate. Dr. Aftab, Hafiz Sajid (goldsmith) etc. Another renowned personality of Panjan Kassana ia Ch Mehdi Khan S/O Ch Rehmat Khan who has remarkably handled the Office as the President of the Pakistan International Airlines C.B.A and has saved the Airline over 80 million Rupees in a matter of a few months. He belongs to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz group and has strong ties with the party and the current government. Panjan kassana peoples mostly are in foreign countries but this village still got some good education institutes & medical facilities. Most peoples belong to Gujjar cast & their subcaste is Kasana as from where the name of this village came. In brief you can't call it a village but a small town or a model village.
Panjan Kissana itself and Neighbouring Hakla dominant the UC 76 and NA 106 with political influence in the area.
