Paolo Cavallone
Paolo Cavallone (Sulmona, 1975) is an Italian composer, pianist, and poet.
Biography
Cavallone’s music has been performed in Europe, North and South America, and New Zealand in many renowned venues such as New York’s Merkin Hall, Los Angeles’ Zipper Hall, Wellington’s Ilott Theatre (New Zealand), Paris’ Italian Cultural Institute, Florence’s Teatro Verdi, Rome’s Festival Nuova Consonanza and many others.
His works, published by Rai Com, have been broadcast by Radio RAI, Radio Rai, Radio New Zealand, Radio Capodistria, and other radio stations. Cavallone’s music has been recorded on CDs released by Albany Records, Tactus, GuitArt, Domani Musica, and Suono Sonda. He received commissions from the Siemens Foundation, Dilijan Music Series of Los Angeles, Società Barattelli of L’Aquila, and others.
Paolo Cavallone served as Professor of Composition at Latina’s Conservatorio “Respighi” (Italy), as Visiting Professor of Composition and Orchestration at the New Zealand School of Music (Victoria University of Wellington) and as Piano Accompanist and as Research Collaborator at the State University of New York (USA).
As guest composer, Cavallone has lectured at the Manhattan School of Music (USA), University of Pittsburgh, McMaster University in Hamilton (Canada), Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia of Rome, and other institutes.
Paolo Cavallone received his degrees in Piano (Master), Composition (Master), and Instrumentation for Band (Master) from the Conservatorio "Casella" of L'Aquila (Italy); completed his high-specialization studies in Composition at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome under Azio Corghi; and received a Laurea Magistrale in Modern Literature from the Università degli Studi dell'Aquila. He also holds a Ph.D. from the State University of New York (USA).
