Paul V. Jabour^[2] (born November 21, 1956 in Providence, Rhode Island) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Rhode Island Senate representing District 5 since January 2007. Jabour served non-consecutively in the Rhode Island General Assembly from his special election in April 1985 until December 31, 1990 in the Rhode Island House of Representatives.

Education

Jabour graduated from the University of Rhode Island, earned his LLM from Boston University School of Law, and his JD from the University of New Hampshire School of Law.

Elections

• 2012 Jabour was challenged in the September 11, 2012 Democratic Primary, winning with 1,656 votes (57.6%),^[3] and was unopposed for the November 6, 2012 General election, winning with 6,240 votes.^[4]
• 1980s Jabour won a special election to the Rhode Island House of Representatives in April 1985 and was re-elected in the November 4, 1986 and November 8, 1988 general elections.
• 2006 When District 5 Democratic Senator Frank T. Caprio ran for state treasurer, Jabour ran in the September 12, 2006 Democratic Primary, winning with 1,341 votes (63.3%),^[5] and won the three-way November 7, 2006 General election with 7,744 votes (64.4%) against Green candidate Jeffrey Toste and Republican nominee Robert Berrillo.^[6]
• 2008 Jabour was unopposed for both the September 9, 2008 Democratic Primary, winning with 522 votes,^[7] and the November 4, 2008 General election, winning with 5,155 votes.^[8]
• 2010 Jabour was unopposed for both the September 23, 2010 Democratic Primary, winning with 2,218 votes,^[9] and the November 2, 2010 General election, winning with 3,400 votes.^[10]
• 2014 Paul Jabour's cousin MIchael Solomon announced his candidacy for Mayor of Providence, Rhode Island
