Pogoń coat of arms

Pogoń or Pahonia (Belarusian: Пагоня) is a word used to describe the Lithuanian coat of arms. The term was possibly first applied by Marcin Bielski in the 16th century.[1] The arms represent a Knight-in-pursuit, known as Vytis, and meaning the chase. It has been used by several noble families, like the Sokolski (Pogoń Ruska coat of arms) and the Czartoryski families.
