Polly and the Zhu Zhu Pets is a Canadian/American animated children's television series produced by Cepia LLC, Corus Entertainment, and Nelvana. The series debuted on Disney Channel in the United States on September 12, 2016.[8] The series will later premiere on YTV in Canada in December.[9] The series is animated using Toon Boom Animation, and recorded in Studio 306 Inc.
Premise
Polly and the Zhu Zhu Pets, based on the American toy franchise Zhu Zhu Pets, is about 8-year-old Polly Pamplemousse, as she lives in Anytown with her four talking extraordinary hamsters; Pipsqueak, Mr. Squiggles, Num Nums, and Chunk.
Characters
Main characters
- Polly Pamplemousse (voiced by Jenna Warren) is the 8-year-old[3] owner of the Zhu Zhu pets.
- Pipsqueak (voiced by Tajja Isen) is Polly's first Zhu Zhu pet. As the unofficial leader of the Zhu Zhus, she loves adventure. Her birthmark is a shooting star.[10]
- Mr. Squiggles (voiced by Richard Binsley) is the second Zhu Zhu pet. He is smart and resourceful, depending on science for situations. His birthmark is a spiral.
- Num Nums (voiced by Stephany Seki) is the third Zhu Zhu pet. She is a careful thinker, very cautious, and unlike her right hand man Pipsqueak, she doesn't like daring things. Her birthmark is a heart.
- Chunk (voiced by Robert Tinkler) is the fourth Zhu Zhu pet. He is strong, stylish, and loves to eat food. His birthmark is a sun.
- Jilly and Bean are two mischievous twins.[11] They have not appeared in the series yet.

- Ellen and Mr. Pamplemousse (voiced by Stacey DePass and Zachary Bennett) are Polly's parents. They are professional plumbers.
- Wilfred P. Kerdle or Mr. Kerdle (voiced by Patrick McKenna) is the cranky janitor of Polly's school. He hates the Zhus and tries to get rid of them.
- Cindy Gelato and Mindy Gelato (voiced by Rebecca Brenner and Samantha Weinstein) are twins and Polly's friends.
- Madge (voiced by Brianna D'Aguanno) is Polly's worst enemy.

- The skunk appears in "Say It Don't Spray It" as Num Nums's friend who ran away from the wild.
- Bernie Bucklebutt appears in "Home Run Hamsters" offscreen as a baseball player who signed Polly's baseball glove.
- The umpire (voiced by Zachary Bennett) appears in "Home Run Hamsters".
- The cashier (voiced by Stacey DePass) appears in "Chip off the Old Chunk".
- Walter is a playful dog that Polly and the Zhus dog-sit in "Walter-Gate".

- Whendy Sails (voiced by Nicole Stamp) is a news reporter that appears in "Skate-lebrity".

Broadcast
Disney Channels Worldwide acquired both multi-territory broadcast and on demand rights to Polly and the Zhu Zhu Pets in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Central and Eastern Europe, Germany, Luxembourg, the Middle East, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Switzerland.[5]
The series will air on Disney Channel in Hungarian[12] and Disney Channel in Czech.
