Positive News is a constructive journalism magazine, reporting on people and initiatives that are creating a sustainable and fair world. It aims help create a more responsible and balanced media.

Format and circulation

Published in the UK, Positive News is a quarterly magazine with a circulation of 50,000 copies. It was originally printed in newspaper format. Sister editions are published independently in the US (circulation 40,000) and Hong Kong (circulation 5,000), with online-only versions also published in Argentina and Spain.[1] Positive News Argentina airs a weekly radio show hosted by Andrea Méndez Brandam.[2]

History

Positive News was founded in 1993 by Shauna Crockett-Burrows, who soon after established Positive News Trust, a charity promoting awareness of the achievements and ideas of young people.[3] Noticias Positivas was founded in Argentina in 2003 by Andrea Méndez Brandam, and in Spain in 2002 by the Positive News Association.

In 2015, Positive News ran a crowdfunding share offer to convert into a consumer co-operative. It raised over £250,000 and is now owned by 1526 readers, journalists and supporters.[4]
