PowerDsine was a semiconductor and systems company, acquired by Microsemi in January 2007[2] following its IPO in 2004.[3] It was established in 1994[4] and received 5 rounds of investment plus one round of funding between 1996 and 2002.[5] Its initial products were Ringing (telephony) generators,[6] and it also developed xDSL Remote Power Feeding Modules,[7] before inventing Power over Ethernet's (PoE) precursor Power over LAN.[8]
PowerDsine supplied PoE Injectors, PoE Test Equipment and PoE ICs.[9]
