Rambhotla palem is a revenue village and gram panchayat in Guntur district of the Indian state Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Cherukupalli mandal of Tenali revenue division. The village is located 5 km from Mandal headquarters and 45 km east to district headquarters Guntur. The nearest town Ponnuru is 12 km away.
Total geographical area of this village is 15 km2 and it is the biggest village by area and 4th most populous village in the mandal.[1] The village is the origin for many other villages in the area. Some of these villages are Pagadam Vari Palem, Kotireddy Vari Palem, Pittu sita Rami Reddy Palem, Akkalavari palem,Moravagu palem and Tummala Palem.
History
The village is named after Ram Bhatt, a priest from an Indian story. According to the story, Ram Bhatt was from the Gujarat region who traveled south and settled in Andhra Pradesh. A king returning from his conquests with his army found Ram Bhatt’s house and rested there. Impressed and pleased by his hospitable treatment, the king offered Ram Bhatt some land in appreciation. This land came to be known as Rambhatla Palem, named after Ram Bhatt.It is laterly called as Rambhotla vari palem.

The village is home to 6,015 people with 1,628 households. The population consists of 2% schedule castes and 3% schedule tribes. It has unhealthy sex ratio of 898 females per 1000 male in the village. The sex ratio of this village decreased drastically by 190 points between 2001-11 particularly alarmingly among SC households.

Economy
The economy is predominantly agarian. The village has a cultivable area of 1472 hectares and grows variety of crops like rice, ground nuts, Black gram and Green mirchi. This village is famous for raising and selling of paddy seedlings to surrounding areas.
The village also consists of 2 rice mills. NSL textiles located nearby provides casual employment to some of the villagers.
