Randy Heckenkemper

Randall J. Heckenkemper (born 1958) is a golf course architect.

Heckenkemper was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in landscape design. Heckenkemper began his career in the 1980s working for Poe and Associates. Later he worked as senior land planner as the company entered into a partnership with Jack Nicklaus and Associates.

In 1983, Heckenkemper joined the partnership of Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish, where he oversaw the construction of several high-profile golf courses. In 1985 he founded his own company, Heckenkemper Golf Course Design.

Some of Heckenkemper's courses have received commendations, including Forest Ridge Golf Club in Oklahoma and Stonebridge Meadows Golf Club in Arkansas, which were ranked as the number 4 and number 10 courses in their respective states by Golf Digest. The Sanctuary Golf Course at Westworld became the 17th course, and the first in Arizona to be awarded Audubon Signature Status.[1]
