Hettige Yasasiri (H.Y) Ranjit Perera is a Sri Lankan academic. He is the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University. He was a former head of Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Moratuwa Sri Lanka.
He was a student at Nalanda College Colombo and graduated from University of Moratuwa with a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering.
He later earned a Doctor of Engineering degree from RWTH Aachen University in Germany.
He is a Chartered Engineer, Member of Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka and served in regulating the energy sector as Director General, Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka from 2008 to 2010.
