Rape and Marriage: The Rideout Case is a 1980 American television drama film directed by Peter Levin and starring Mickey Rourke, Linda Hamilton and Rip Torn.[1][2]

Plot

John Rideout (Rourke) and his wife (Hamilton) are having trouble. Their marriage is in ruins after he wanted to have his way with her but she didn't let him. He said it was all about his rights, because he her husband. She said it was all about her rights because she as a woman didn't have to give it up just because he wanted her to give it up. A court case was convened. A judge and jury were summoned. The gavel was struck. And when the dust settle after all of the testimonials and the legal witness experts and all the people said what they had to say. Turned out that the man was wrong and the woman was right. Rip Torn was also a lawman.
