Raphaël Liogier

Raphaël Liogier is a French sociologist. He is the director of the Observatoire du religieux^[1] and a professor at the Institut d'études politiques d'Aix-en-Provence and the Institut de management public et de gouvernance territoriale.

He co-authored several articles on the theme of religion.^[2]

Liogier wrote his thesis on Buddhism under the direction of Bruno Étienne, a professor at the Institut d'études politiques d'Aix-en-Provence, and has among other things published a book on secularism in 2006. He works particularly on the issues related to Islam and cults^[3] and wrote many articles on religious topics including Pentecostalism,^[4] Catholicism^[5] and Soka Gakkai.^[6] He also criticizes the work made by MIVILUDES.^[7]
