Ria Money Transfer, a subsidiary of Euronet Worldwide, Inc., specializes in money remittances.[2] Ria initiates transfers through a network of sending agents and company-owned stores located throughout North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa and online.[3]

History

The company's first store front was opened in 1987, and since then they have grown into the third largest money transfer service in the world.[4] In 2013, Ria processed approximately 28 million money transfers with a face value of more than $9 billion through a network of 235,000 global agents, and locations in 133 countries.[5][6]

On July 31, 2014 Ria Money Transfer partnered with Postbank, which is owned by the Kenyan Government, allowing their customers to send money through any of the bank’s 99 branches, or receive it directly into their accounts.[7]

In 2014 the company launched Walmart-2-Walmart, a Walmart money transfer service within the US.[6] The service allows customers to transfer money to and from more than 4,000 of its stores.[8]
