Richard Barron is an American women's basketball coach. Since 2011, he has been the head coach of the Maine Black Bears women's basketball team. In April 2016, Barron signed a four-year contract extension ($150,000 per year) with the University of Maine.[1]
Barron was the 2015 America East Coach of the Year.[1] During his time at Maine, the Black Bears began playing home games at the significantly larger off-campus Cross Insurance Center in nearby Bangor.[1]
Prior to coaching at Maine, Barron also was the head coach at Princeton University (2001-2007) and Sewanee: The University of the South.[1]
