Richard Johnson Anglican School is a large successful Pre-K to Year 12 Co-Ed School celebrating 20 years of Christian Education in the heart of Western Sydney. It is part of the Anglican Schools Corporation.
The School was established in 1997, and has since grown to over 930 students across two Campuses in Oakhurst and Marsden Park.
Mission Statement
The School's Mission Statement is to provide a dynamic, caring Christian educational community, founded on the Lordship of Jesus Christ, to foster learning excellence.[1]
Campuses
The School consists of two separate but closely linked Campuses:
- The Oakhurst Campus (Years K-12) is well established with excellent modern facilities. It has a dynamic and energetic atmosphere.
- The Marsden Park Campus (Pre-Kindergarten and Primary) is a new and expanding Campus which will extend to Year 12 in time. Positioned on 16 acres, it enjoys a fresh pioneering culture. The current School building contains three classrooms and a library with a fun communal area for indoor play. Administration offices are also incorporated. There is a fully fenced and partly shaded outdoor area for students and this will be expanded over the coming Christmas period to include fantastic playground spaces. A large playing field has already been established and basketball/netball courts are soon to be added on the 16 acres of land. Over $2.5M will be spent in 2017 on further permanent facilities which will include four new Primary classrooms.[2]
History
The School is named after Rev. Richard Johnson who was the first Anglican minister to the new Australians, arriving with the First Fleet in 1788. Rev. Johnson was committed to sharing the Christian message and making a positive difference in the local community.[3]
