Riley Brockington is an Ottawa City Councillor and former Trustee of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.[1]
Career
Following graduation from Brookfield High School in 1994, Riley Brockington attended the University of Ottawa where he obtained his degree in Economics in 1998. Prior to being elected to City Council, he worked for 16 years at Statistics Canada.[2]
In addition to his work at Statistics Canada, Riley was also on the Board of the Canadian Association of Professional Employees, serving for two years as national vice-president and three years as Chair of the Finance Committee.[3]
From 2003 to 2010, Riley Brockington served River Ward for two terms as the public school board Trustee. During that time, he occupied several functions including chair of the Business Services Committee and Budget Committee and Vice-Chair of the School Board.[1] In 2009, Riley Brockington was elected Vice-President of the Ontario Public School Boards Association, serving a one-year term.[4]
He was elected to city council on October 27, 2014, and was sworn in on December 1, 2014.
Personal
Riley Brockington is the single father of two daughters. They live in the Mooney's Bay / Riverside Park neighbourhood of River Ward.
