Rommel Rodrigues is an Indian author, film director, screenwriter and producer based out of Mumbai.[1] He has been a journalist for over a decade (Accredited by Maharashtra government for 5 years), having worked in leading dailies of India,[2][3][4][5] and has covered crime, business, politics and current affairs extensively. He has authored several books,[6] among which are two bestsellers, Kasab: The Face of 26/11,[7] detailing the 2008 Mumbai attacks,[8][9][10][11][12] published by Penguin (2011)[13] and Everything You Wanted to Know About Business & Economics published by CNBC (2012),[14] bundled with another best selling book, Simplifying Business, Economics & Jargons[15] by CNBC which became an instant hit on release featuring among the top 10 business bestsellers within a month.[16] Rommel Rodrigues has conducted numerous interactive sessions based on his book on business and economics. Wittily titled ‘Business and Economics for Idiots’ he has addressed several seminars, management colleges, investor forums etc. across India.

In December 2011, he was assigned by renowned film director Ram Gopal Varma(RGV) to write the script of his film based on the heinous Mumbai terror attacks of 26/11, 2008.,[17][18] RGV roped in Rommel Rodrigues to write the story, screenplay and dialogues and also took him as his Associate Director for the film.[19]

The film The Attacks of 26/11 released on March 1, 2013 to positive reviews. This is what acclaimed film critic Subhash K.Jha whose reviews appear in several leading dailies in India and abroad had to say about the writing, "That is the terrifying reality that perpetually underlines the gripping narration, clamping the brilliant writing of Rommel Rodrigues down to a whittled numbing sense of hardcore reality where all thrill ends and the feeling of dread begins to creep upon us. We are finally left with only a profound sense of dread and fear."[20][21]

Rommel Rodrigues is currently producing and directing two Marathi films based on the script he has written, First film titled Gurukul (film),[22][23][24][25] [26][27][28][29] [30] released in August 2015 to a grand opening, the second still untitled is in pre production stage, will go on floor soon. Rommel an avid globetrotter is also contracted to write two novels for leading publishing house which he says he is attempting to complete.
