Rushere Community Hospital, is a community hospital in the Western Region of Uganda.[1]
Location
The hospital is located in the town of Rushere in Nyabushozi County, in Kiruhura District, about 67 kilometres (42 mi) northeast of Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.[2] The coordinates of Rushere Community Hospital are: 0°12'42.1"S, 30°49'16.0"E (Latitude:-0.211682; Longitude:30.821102).[3]
History
Rushere Hospital was established in 1992, out of a clinic that was founded in 1988. As of May 2016, the hospital had 52 members of staff and a bed capacity of 82. It is managed by the Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau, since 1998. In 2005, it was designated as a district hospital for Kiruhura District.[4]
