Süreyya Ciliv (born in 1958 in Zonguldak) is a Turkish business executive. He served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of major corporations such as Turkcell and Microsoft Turkey. Ciliv's tenure as the CEO of Turkcell, leading telecom operator in Turkey, ended on January 31, 2015. Previously, he held the position of Chief Operating Officer of the company since January 9, 2007.

Biography

Sureyya Ciliv graduated from University of Michigan in 1981, with honors in Industry & Operations Engineering and Computer Engineering. Later on, Ciliv received his MBA degree from Harvard University in 1983.

Ciliv served as the General Manager and Chairman of Novasoft Systems Inc., a company he established in Boston, USA, until 1997. In 1997, he was appointed as the CEO of Microsoft Turkey, and held the position for 3 years. Between 2000 and 2007, he served in various management positions in Microsoft Global Sales, Marketing and Service Group. In 2007, he was appointed as the CEO of Turkcell. Under his tenure, Turkcell preserved its strong lead as the biggest telecommunication company in Turkey. [1]
