Saeed bin Buti (Arabic سعيد بن بطي ) was a Ruler of Dubai.

Biography

In 1852 after the death of his brother, Sheikh Maktoum bin Butti bin Sohal, became ruler of Dubai. Like his brother, he built Dubai to a safer place for all residents. His tenure covered alliances with the rulers of Abu Dhabi and Umm al-Quwain, to strengthen its position in any disputes. In 1853 he graduated with Great Britain a treaty that ceded the defense and foreign policy and thus became part of the Trucial Coast, as the subsequent UAE were then known. His successor as ruler of Dubai was Sheikh Hushur bin Maktoum.[1]
