Sarath Ekanayake is the 7th and current Chief Minister of the Central Province of Sri Lanka. He previously served as the 2nd and 4th Chief Minister of Central Province between in April and June 1999 and again between November 2000 and April 2002 and has been the Chief Minister since 2004 in the current tenure.[1] He belongs to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and is part of the United People's Freedom Alliance. He is also the president of the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation.[2][3]
