Sawaare Sabke Sapne Preeto (SSSP) was an Indian television series that premiered on Imagine TV on 4 July 2011 and ended on April 12th 2012,[1] The story is located against a Punjabi backdrop and is based on the lives of five sisters. Set in the picturesque north Indian town of Amritsar, which is also an Indian Air Force base, this is the story of the quirky, lovable Dhillon family. They live in a run-down mansion, having moved to India from Pakistan after the Partition, a generation ago. In many ways the Dhillon family is a typical lower-middle-class Indian family.
At the head of the family is retired school master Gangandeep Dhillon, who lives with his wife Kanwal and five daughters. The eldest daughter is named Jasmeet (Meeta), and is followed by Ishmeet (Ishu), Manpreet (Preeto), Gurbaani (Bani) and the youngest, Sonu. Each girl is unique as a character—lovable, memorable and reminiscent of so many young people.
Plot
Sawaare Sapke Sapne Preeto is a story about Preeto, who is the third among the five Dhillon sisters. Her father's income is not enough to maintain the entire family. Preeto's mother often regrets that she does not have a son, who could have supported them all. Hence Preeto decides to contribute to the family income by designing and stitching clothes for clients. Her dream is to get her older sisters married and the younger ones educated. Her eldest sister Jasmeet a.k.a. Meeta is lovable but plump and, therefore, has difficulty finding a suitable husband. Meeta is engaged with a man named Bobby. Meeta's parents told him that Meeta is their only daughter. Bobby later finds out that the Dhillon house has 5 daughters. Bobby then was going to call off the wedding but then he gets bad intentions towards Ishmeet (Second daughter). Bobby starts harassing her then Preeto finds out. Preeto brings the truth out. Preeto then decides to find husbands for Meeta and Ishu herself. But, she eventually meets an air force officer Rajbeer. Rajbeer and Preeto start developing feelings for each other after continuous encounters at their friends's Jassie and Jogi's wedding. Meanwhile Dhruv another air force officer falls in love with Ishu. At first Ishu says no to his proposal then later says yes. After a while Rajbeer and Preeto can't stay away from each other because they love each other too much. Then one day they both confess their love to each other. While their confession takes place, Preeto papaji meets an accident. Papaji lost his job, and is worried about Ishe's wedding's fianicial cost. After knowing that Preeto breaks up with Rajbeer. Preeto tries to go away from Rajbeer but is failing. Mean while Simran, Dhruv's sister enters. All of them have fun during Dhruv and Ishu's wedding. But Dhruv's mom (Neelam) and dad (Ryan) are against this marriage. Then the family go to Manali. In Manali, Rajbeer eats spicy pokras and has an upset stomach. Few days later in Manali Simran meets an accident but Rajbeer saves her. Simran falls in love with Rajbeer. After they reach Amritsar Bani falls in love with a guy named Ranjeet. Ranjeet is the person who wants to destroy Rajbeer but later on Preeto and Rajbeer figure out a way to show Ranjeet's true intention in front of Preeto's family. Ranjeet sold Bani to some goon but Rajbeer and Preeto end up saving her. Later on Bj finds out about Rajbeer and Preeto's love. She convinces Preeto that only Rajbeer will stick to her side till the very end. Finally Preeto agrees to marry Rajbeer. Meanwhile Neelam is aware of their love and she also knows that Simran is in love with Rajbeer. She blackmails Preeto saying that if she confesses her feelings to Rajbeer then she will make sure that Dhruv and Ishu are divorced. Confused on what to do next Preeto agrees to marry Sunny, Pankaj's cousin who came for Pankaj Meeta's wedding. Sunny fell head over heels for Preeto. He fell in love with Preeto the first time he saw her. Sunny learns about Preeto's condition so they go through a fake marriage. Only Sonu, Sunny and Preeto are aware of this. Preeto tries looking bad in Rajbeer's eyes and makes Simran good in his eyes. Soon Rajbeer overhears Preeto talking to herself that this wedding is fake. He realizes that she still loves him.
