Maulana Shamsul Haque Faridpuri (Bengali: শামসুল হক ফরিদপুরী; 1896 – January 21, 1969) was an Islamic scholar, educationist, and social reformer. He was the founder-principal of Jamia Qurania Arabia Qaumi Madrasa. He founded many other madrasas and mosques. He also founded Khademul Islam Jamat to implement Islamic ideals and Anjuman-e-Tabligh-al-Quran to counter Christian missionary activities.[1][2]
Biography
Faridpuri was born in 1896 in Tungipara, Bengal Presidency, British India (now in Bangladesh). His father's name was Muhammad Abdullah and mother's name was Amena Khatun.[3] Faridpuri matriculated from Calcutta Madrasa in 1920. He received the knowledge of Tasawwof from Allama Thanvi.[1]
