Shanks Restaurant is a former restaurant located in Bangor, Northern Ireland, awarded one Michelin star in the period 1996-2005.[1][2][3]
The restaurant, designed by Terence Conran, had an unusual set up. The main restaurant is in the basement while the balcony is used for Al fresco dining. The ground floor is mainly used as reception area and bar.[4] The Californian styled restaurant was located on the grounds of the Blackwood Golf Course.
The restaurant was closed down in 2005, after a fatal accident to the head chef and co-owner Robbie Millar.[5]
